Our Client:

We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of an exciting new Homewares B2B company based in central London. As the Head of Product Development, you will play a pivotal role in transforming ideas into commercially successful products by overseeing the end-to-end product development process. Driving innovation, managing the development process, and ensuring the seamless execution of new products across Homewares that align with creative and commercial goals.

 You will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy across Table Top, Lighting, Textiles, Seasonal, and Home Accessories. Ensuring that every product meets the highest of standards of quality and brand alignment. This role will work across wholesale for key retailers in the UK. You will bring new products to market, expanding categories and refining the approach to materials and manufacturing.

 This role requires an exceptional commercial mindset, strong supplier relationship management, and good technical knowledge of product development. You will be passionate about driving category expansion, developing new products, and ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of Homewares innovation.

Role:

  • Lead the full product development lifecycle, from concept to final production, ensuring the successful execution of new and existing product lines

  • Ensuring alignment with commercial goals, market trends, and company brand vision

  • Partner with manufacturers globally, ensuring product feasibility, cost effectiveness, and highest quality standards. This will include international travel

  • Ensure products remain relevant and forward thinking

  • Conduct competitive research to identify gaps and opportunities in the market, ensuring products offer a clear USP

  • Partner with global manufacturing partners to optimise product quality, efficiency, and product timelines

  • Own the critical path for product development from concept to launch is delivered on time and within budget

  • Work closely with the Founder and Head of strategy to define long-term category strategies, identifying opportunities for range expansion and new product categories

  • Build and execute seasonal product development, trend driven and innovative

  • Conduct trend analysis and market research to ensure the company stays ahead of market trends

Ideal Candidate:

  • Extensive experience in product development, ideally within Homewares across multiple categories

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production techniques

  • Translate design concepts into viable products with creativity and business acumen

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to define target pricing, margins and cost structures

  • Experience working with global manufacturers
